“Humility is no substitute for a good personality.”
— Fran Lebowitz
We’re readers, some of us are writers, and a couple of us know our way around a computer.
We created this website to help you take reading and writing into the future.
All entertainment is now under the control of the user, you watch TV when and where you want, you take your music with you, you watch films the way you want to watch them – so let’s do the same with reading.
We’ve seen that there is a great deal of websites out there with immense collections of amateur fiction, but who’s reading them?
So what we’re doing is creating a site that people want to use. That readers will come to because they know we have promised them these things:
We’re still learning, we’re definitely still growing, and what we’re trying to do is choose the best stories that we think you will enjoy reading from the many we get submitted.
Sometimes our team of editors will get it wrong, which is why we’ll never stop listening to what you want.
There are no criteria for using The Fiction Shelf, you don’t have to give us money or compliments on our haircuts, just log in and start browsing.
And write, if you want to. If you’ve written anything, send it to us, we’re always nice about new work, and we’d love to read what you’ve created.
